Worshipful Master's Message
Brethren,
How good and how pleasant it is for Brethren to dwell together
in unity. The "Wedding Year" has had a great start. I thank all who attended our
September dinner and communication. Last month’s dinner with sixteen in attendance
was such a success, this month we will have meat loaf, mashed potatoes and steamed
veggie dinner prior to the opening of Lodge. Dinner will begin at 6:30 PM. Please
confirm with me that you will attend the dinner. Throughout the year, we will have
other new events and opportunities for the Brethren; make sure you attend to be part
of it.Take a look at some of the pictures and articles on our website, www.stjohns-no2-de.com.
Always visit it for additional information and advanced notice of the events. Last month,
I borrowed something from Piedmont Stella Lodge No. 50 in Stanardsville, VA.
It is the Master’s Hat. If you do not know what it is, you should visit your Lodge.
One person who knows about the Master’s Hat is Brother Tom Stiles who was the recipient.
This month we plan to dedicate the paverblocks that enhance the historic marker adorning
the front of our building. They were given with the most tender of feelings for a number
of Brothers and Sisters. Please join us in dedicating these small, but very meaningful mementos
to our past and present honorees. The dedication will take place at our stated communication.
Did you see the blue and white shirt on display? Really sharp looking and you can wear it to
all casual Masonic functions. Why not pick one up and have your name embroidered on it.
Shirts are $32 or less with the Lodge name, square and compasses and your name. We will put
order forms on the website and in Lodge.
This month we are celebrating 899 years of Masonry. All Masonic birthday celebrants present
will receive the blue "forget-me-not" pin. May the All-Seeing-Eye watch over you and keep you
in His omnipotent gaze, now and forevermore.
Fraternally yours,
Herb Atkinson
